Southern Style Food Frenzy

I got it into my head that for Good Friday, I wanted to do a Southern-themed feast.

So, I began plotting and planning and narrowing down what I wanted to make. There are loads of good ideas on this thread in Vogue Forums.

What I ended up choosing was:
and (because no meal is complete without dessert)
'Feast' may be a bit of an overstatement for 3-4 items of food but keep in mind that I only have myself and Charlie to cater for. It was enough to keep us munching from morning till night, and still have loads of left overs for the next day.

This was a great way to spend a rainy public holiday indoors and I had plenty of fun. The food was heartwarming and plentiful. I'd love to do this more often :)
